Incredible India campaign reaches a new level

Tourism Ministry of India has launched 2 brand new campaigns to promote Indian travel destinations to Indian as well as foreign travelers. The international campaign has been named as ‘Find what you seek’ whereas the domestic campaign has been named as ‘Go Beyond’. Both the programs were launched at the World Tourism Mart in London. World Tourism Mart is a yearly international event held from 5th November to 8th November.

Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi said that with this program, they have attempted to take the Incredible India program, which was started in the year 2002, to a higher stage with changing focus from products to consumers. Till this point of time, India has been promoted from a products and destinations point of view. The campaign has been very popular till now. But this is the time to take it to the next level with focus on consumers.

Speaking about his ministry’s priority, he added that their goal is to have more foreign tourists in the country. Right now, India is only attracting 0.65% of total international tourists and now they wanted to take it to at least 1%.

Each year, on average India attracts around 6.3 million foreign visitors and in the next 5 years, the ministry wants to double the figure. An increase in the numbers of foreign tourists would generate more job opportunities. India is counting on countless mountains, lakes, beaches, forts, heritage sites, festivals and wildlife to have more foreign tourists.
